MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) for the fibre laser or amplifier is linked to the MTBF
of the pump diodes. Manlight can now offer a very simple way to replace the pump
diode thanks to its EPL (Exchangeable Pump Laser) technology.
Open the laser/amplifier cover, swap the diode through the SMA connector and anod/cathod wires. Fast and simple. Only a maximum of 2 hours is needed to repair the unit from a production line, no special tooling, no fiber splices.. only a screwdriver.
